Aylesford Testimonials

I had tried the gym before but got very bored of the same thing and when it got too difficult I would stop with an excuse that I made to myself of some kind.

I was really apprehensive about my first session, what on earth I was letting myself in for!!!!

It was great! The trainers and fellow boot campers were really friendly and what I really enjoy about Bootcamp is that every session is varied in content and challenging and different, you never know what you are going to do on each session.

Its tough but also fun…I am now 4.5 stone lighter and dropped 4 dress sizes…

Bexley Testimonials

Before starting bootcamp a couple of years ago I would never have thought I'd be enjoying exercise and now can't imagine spending my Saturday morning with anyone other than the "bootcamp family"! I can feel a vast improvement in my fitness since starting, Mike is an excellent trainer who takes into account everyone's fitness level and always gives a varied workout that pushes you further each week. It might be a bit painful sometimes, but it's definitely worth it when you see the results.

Chislehurst Testimonials

I have tried various types of exercise in my time, and Bootcamp is definitely my favourite. The sessions are always varied which keeps it interesting. For a group exercise, it is very personalised - Matt is aware of everyone's ability, and makes sure you put in maximum effort accordingly so you get maximum benefit from the session. Even if the weather is not so great we still manage to have a laugh! I would highly recommend it.

When I first met Matt Lyons at Bootcamp.uk.com I was suffering from acute lower back pain from years wear and tear on it, I could barely manage 12 painful sit ups in 1 minute, after 5 months of hard but enjoyable training my lower back is pain free, I'm 2 stone lighter and can now do 45 sit ups in 1 minute, I could not recommend training with Bootcamp.uk.com enough.

I have been attending Matt's Bootcamp for a year now and what I enjoy the most about Bootcamp is that there is a real team atmosphere. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly and I've made quite a few friends. Matt is a great instructor and every day is different which keeps it interesting. Matt always gets the most out of you but he never pushes you to do more than you physically can. I started out doing one day a week, then two and now I do three days a week and I have just recently run my first 5k.

Hilarys Story

My bootcamp story started 2 years ago just after a group of hardcore bootcampers had run past me, up a hill carrying a log at the Shoreham 10k. I vowed to myself that I would hunt these crazy people down and one day do the same!

My first session is one that will always stick in my mind, firstly I’d admitted that I could run, this turned out to be a big mistake. Secondly I had to arm wrestle whilst laying on the ground, note to self....choose partners carefully in the future. As for running with the log, half way round the park was more than far enough for me.

Since then I’ve been going to bootcamp at least once a week, usually 2 or 3 times and on one occasion along with a fellow bootcamper was challenged by Matt to do 6 in a row. The reward being that Matt would take part in a session that we had devised. This gave me an insight and appreciation into the amount of work that goes into planning each session and some amusing memories of Matt skipping round the park with butterfly face paint, a pink tutu, legwarmers and a musical wand! (See pic)

During the first 5 minutes of any session I often wonder what I’m doing especially if it’s cold or raining but there are many reasons bootcamp has become part of my life....Each session is different but always challenging, over the last 2 years I have gained determination and strength, ‘Strong is my new skinny!’ and even a competitive streak (which I didn’t know I had) but mostly it’s the support and encouragement from Matt and my fellow bootcampers which keeps me coming back for more....That and the feeling of achievement when the session finishes and the odd guilt free slice of cake and a G&T or two.

Last September on a trip to Snowdon, which Matt organises twice a year I was the typical example of someone having all the gear and no idea, thinking we would be walking along a hill path in the sunshine I had completely underestimated what was ahead. As we scaled Crib Gouch my 15 year old son Charlie became a mountain goat and I became a nervous wreck but with all the banter and the belief that no one would leave me behind I made it. Although this is still Charlie’s “Scariest thing I have ever done!” moment I would 100% recommend it if not for the cheeky hill for the weekend away and the friendships you will make.

So this September after almost 2 years I did run (briefly) with the log, through the woods at the Chislehurst Chase, we may not have overtaken anyone but did it with smiles on our faces and with a fab group of friends. Next on the ‘To do’ list is an obstacle race is February and Snowdon again in September neither of which I would be doing if it wasn’t for that log!!....Bring it on!
