Personal Training is obviously personalised. Your workouts will be designed and delivered to you specifically, under the watchful eye of your trainer at all times. Of course, you will pay for this level of service, and as such, Personal Training is significantly more expensive than Bootcamp. Bootcamp isn’t personalised, but you still get to workout in a well designed program under the guidance of highly qualified and experienced trainers. Much better than going it alone.
If you think you need truly personal service, Personal Training is your answer. However, bootcamp is best if you would like a more cost-effective solution that gives almost all of the same benefits for a fraction of the investment and comes with it’s own unique advantages, such as:
Sociable & Enjoyable?
Bootcamp is fun! It’s sociable and you will quickly make friends with others like you. Tying the laces on your training shoes and getting yourself out of the door is much easier when you look forward to working out because you know it will be a good, light-hearted laugh.
That’s not to say that Personal Training can’t be fun, but it is probably only real fun if you are already an exercise lover. Now, having fun isn’t the ultimate goal, you probably want to lose weight, get stronger, fitter, etc. However, consistency and long-term commitment are essential to achieving and maintaining these goals. Making a long-term commitment to something that you enjoy is much easier than trying to do something that you don’t especially like for the rest of your life! Do not underestimate the benefits of making your workouts fun and sociable.
Motivation
What motivates you to stay fit and healthy? If the motivation is internal, meaning you enjoy the process and want to get better, you are more likely to be successful than if motivation is totally external. External motivation meaning that you just want the outcome and need someone to push you every step of the way.
A great way to build the internal motivation is to enjoy what you are doing and engage in some friendly competition with yourself and your friends. Some people will naturally come to enjoy working out and build internal motivation to do better than they have previously with Personal Training, but Bootcamp lends itself more to a competitive spirit.
Which is Right For Me?
Well, that depends. What are your goals? How big is your budget and based on what is mentioned here about enjoyment and motivation, which do you think will be the best fit for you?
